Weed control fabric rolls provide weed control along hedgerows, around new planting, in horticultural settings and can be cut on site to form mulch mats. Weed control fabric rolls are available in photodegradable materials: woven polypropylene and spunbonded polypropylene, in a biodegradable jute / hessian and in a hybrid material (jute with a polyethylene backing). Photodegradable mulching materials offer a long lasting, cost effective mulching solution, whereas the biodegrable materials provide a more environmentally friendly solution- the Jute/Hessain material does not need to be collected up and releases nitrogen and other beneficial elements into the soil as they rot.
